Kate Cassidy “Still Working on Accepting” Boyfriend Liam Payne's Death
LiamPayne'ssister is sharing her pain.
Six months after the One Direction alum was found dead after falling from the balcony of a Buenos Aires hotel room in October, his older sister Ruth Gibbins reflected on her life since his unexpected passing in a heartbreaking social media post.
"My head is still screaming for you," she wrote on Instagram April 16. "Each morning on waking, I feel like I am plunged underwater, gasping for air that never comes to relieve me. Living without you is impossible, so for now, I exist. I'm learning to laugh or smile in the right places, but mate, it's exhausting when all I want to do is speak to you."
"In the few moments I allow myself to feel love and not just loss," she continued, "I can really smile at the memories of us, like last year when we were doubled over laughing at us trying to make something we'd sen on youtube, but memories are always tinged with sadness at how unfair it is we cant make new ones."
Ruth—one of Liam's two older sisters, along with Nicola Payne—admitted that she often looks for signs of him wherever she is.
"I see you, though," she explained. "You're always coming through in different ways to put me back on the right path. I miss you loudly, quietly and in all the moments in between."
Ruth, 34, concluded, "Love you so much more than these words or my tears are capable of expressing but I know you know this. For now, I'll meet you in my dreams."

She isn't the only loved one who's opened up about their grieving process, as the "Strip Down" singer's girlfriend Kate Cassidy shared that she still struggles to accept his death.
"I find myself talking about him so much in the present tense, and it's something where I don't feel the need to correct myself because I still can't fully—that's part of my healing journey," Kate said on the British morning show Lorraine last month. "I'm still working on accepting the fact that he's not here anymore, so it's hard for me to refer to him in the past tense, and when I do refer to him in the past tense, it almost stings that little bit more. It's more official."
"I never would've thought that I would be talking about him in the past tense," she explained, "so it's definitely really hard to accept."

The influencer, 25, emphasized that she has a close circle of people to lean on, as well as the support from One Direction fans worldwide.
"I am trying to do my best," she added. "I have my better days, I have my harder days, but I am surrounded by such a great support system that I cannot thank enough. Having [our dog] Nala around obviously, as well, has helped me so much with my healing journey, and I just couldn't thank everybody enough, all my friends, my family, just for being there for me and being so supportive."
