WHY DID YOU TAKE HIM?

He was my big brother
He was my daddy
He was my mommy
He was my world
He was my family

When I was 13, you took him from me
You told me he was abusing me
But I did not know what you were talking about

My brother and I used to skate together
We used to record ourselves on cassette telling stories
We knew each other like I have known on one else
We used to go fishing together
We went snow shoeing together
We used to go crazy carpeting together
We used to ride our bikes together
He taught me how to ride a bike
He taught me how to whistle
He taught e how to act in public
He taught me right from wrong

He was my brother
He was all I had in life
Then, because you could not find a home for two
YOU TOOK HIM FROM ME
HE WAS ALL I HAD AND YOU TOOK HIM

I was scared but I moved on
I blocked my feelings like you taught me to
I forgot about him for the next 9 years
I was abused and he was not there to talk to
I was alone, without him
I was alone

My only brother.strong, bold, and fearless was gone
I was alone

You RIPPED HIM FROM MY HEART LIKE A PIECE OF FLESH FROM A BONE
YOU DID NOT ASK ME HOW I FELT ABOUT THIS
YOU DID OT EVEN CARE
YOU DID NOT EVEN TELL ME WHY
NOW HE IS AN ALCOHOLIC
NOW HE IS SCARED TO TELL ME HE LOVES ME
NOW HE IS JUST DYING
NOW I HAVE LOST MY BROTHER
NOW I AM 30!

I am sad
I am alone
I miss him.

I hate you CCAS Toronto

THANKS FOR CARING!

John Francis Dunn

(NOTE TO READERS: He has started telling me he loves me lately.)
